Getting our Craft on

SUPER SATURDAY

We don't have any other Sundays until our Super Saturday so I thought I would let everyone know that on Saturday Oct 13th will be the day. If you signed up for crafts come and get them done. If you didn't sign up for crafts please still come. We have demos and classes going on all day and lunch and a quilt set up for humanitarian to work on. We also have hair bows available to make for free. I have some material available or if you have some material you want to make a hair bow out of bring it and we will be making them for free. It will be from 9 to 3. We are having a nutrition/exercise class at 10:00, lunch from 11:00 to 1:00 with a family traditions class going on during lunch. We will have a hair demonstration class at 1:00 and a cooking demonstration class at 2:00. We will be serving soup and rolls for lunch and if you want to bring a dessert or side dish that is one of your favorite family traditions that would be great. If not, that's cool too...just come. If you signed up for the chairs don't forget your material. If you signed up for the priesthood frame don't forget to turn in your line of authority to Lindsay Mitchell. RAISE YOUR TITLE OF LIBERTY

We read in the scriptures about Captain Moroni, and how he rent his coat and wrote upon it those things in which he believed, valued, stood for and in essence was willing to fight for. This is what he wrote..."In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children."

As families and individuals we invite you to raise your title of Liberty just as Captain Moroni did, by choosing a family motto/saying/scripture, etc. It can be that in which you believe, value, and in essence are willing to work and stand for. We encourage you to come up with your title of liberty and have it in your home where you can be reminded on a daily basis as was Captain Moroni and his people, for Captain Moroni had it hosted upon every tower in the land. Your Title of Liberty can be changed as often as needed. We have been asked to do this by our stake leaders and we hope you will all take the opportunity to strengthen your families, homes, and you individually as you Raise Your Title of Liberty.

Here are a few suggestions: Print the words that you want and put it in a frame. Vinyl could be put on a tile, wood board or on the wall. It could be a picture, or a banner/flag that hangs in the home or it could be a wall hanging.

We are asked to bring your Title of Liberty to the ward harvest dinner to display.

As sisters in the Fillmore 4th ward, we sing this song often in our meetings, but more importantly than singing these words is that the sisters carry out this message in real life in the visiting teaching program. Every day there is proof that I hear of sisters extending a hand to those around them in the form of meals, a ride to the doctor, babysitting, play dates in the park with young mothers, a listening sympathetic ear, a shoulder to cry on, and in countless other ways. We still have many around us that are lonely, sick, outside the fold of the gospel, who need our loving arms to surround them, our hands to lift up, our backs to help carry their burdens, our hearts to care for and love. Pray for inspiration to know what you can do to help even more, those sisters you visit. It truly is an errand of angels. May the Lord bless us all to do "whatsoever is gentle and human, to cheer and to bless..."
